Bethan

Bethan Ellsmore is an extraordinarily diverse performer who is equally at home singing a virtuosic coloratura aria as she is belting out Broadway hits, performing her original contemporary repertoire, or having a crowd in stitches in a cabaret. Bethan is one of Australia's most exciting up-and-coming performers, recently graduating from the Queensland Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music, Classical Voice. Her varied experience on stage includes recital and performance of opera, artsong, music theatre, jazz and pop. Previous roles include La Fee (cover) in Massenet's Cendrillon, Cosette in Les Miserables, Lady Jacqueline Carston in Me and My Girl, the title role in Alice in Wonderland and Naomi in 48 Shades of Brown. Bethan has also been a featured soloist for Oscar Theatre Company, Underground Opera, Ignation's Showstoppers and Songbirds. She has performed in numerous Conservatorium lunchtime concerts, and was the recipient of the Margaret Nixon prize for Voice. Bethan has been a featured extra on Home and Away. She has also created the role of Lucretia in Brisbane composer Matthew Samer's operatic musical, Hell and High Water. Bethan performs regularly with her beloved operatic-cabaret collective Babushka, and is currently preparing the role of La Ciesca for the Queensland Conservatorium's October production of Puccini's Gianni Schicchi.
