‘Head’ diva Alicia Cush is the creator and director of belladiva and driving force behind the group. She has recently completed her Master of Music Studies degree at the Qld Conservatorium, where she sang the role of Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Euridice in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice. Currently, Alicia is a chorus member of Opera Queensland, performing in Puccini’s Turandot, Verdi's La traviata and Aida and Tosca in October later this year. She also sang in the ensemble's first-ever CD recording of an opera chorus in Australian history for the ABC. Outside of diva world, Alicia fronts the dynamic chamber group Alpha Crucis Ensemble (Southern Cross Soloists 2), who performed last year for the Bangalow Music Festival, premiering new works by brisbane composers. She has also been a leading lady in The Creation, Catulli Carmina, The Rake’s Progress, Cosi fan tutte, Julius Caesar, The Magic Flute and Carmen. Outside of operatic singing, Alicia has also professionally sung jazz, pop, musical theatre, cabaret, latin and was one of the first ladies of brisbane hip-hop. In between rehearsals and arranging, you'll find Alicia behind a computer plotting belladiva world domination!
